Who'd want Used Notebooks?

If you could get notebooks that looked new, are fairly new, had a good warranty but cost less than new ones, wouldn't you want one too? A small number of well-known suppliers offer just such notebooks. These systems are notebooks that have been returned for a variety of genuine reasons. These are then fully re-tested to ensure that every part of the secondhand notebook is fully functional and passes their quality control procedures.

All products from these companies are similar to systems purchased new from standard sources, except that they have been returned, tested and then sold to you at a discount. Get the Used Notebook you WANT

You can more or less get what you want in terms of your hard disk, RAM, DVD, screen size etc as there are usually a good number of different secondhand notebooks to choose from. As an experiment, we chose a middle-of the-range Inspiron 4150 with 40Gb hard disk, 512Mb RAM, modem, 24x CDRW/DVD drive, Windows XP Pro, MS Office XP Pro etc and compared it with a brand new notebook with a similar specification (the only difference was the CPU which was a Pentium 4 2.2Ghz whilst the secondhand notebook was a Pentium 4 1.8Ghz). So similar spec, same extras. The price was £700 less!

Is the warranty any good? Yes. These suppliers are happy to offer customers either a warranty that's related to the age of the notebook or one that is identical to a warranty on a new notebook.

Check them out for yourselves anyway. You can get a really good spec notebook you want at a price that's very desirable. Buying doesn't come any easier when you are online but note that due to the high demand and limited quantity of available products you may find them going pretty fast.
